Allotment photos in Exhibition

There is a new photo exhibition called Room to Grow which features photographs from allotments around Bristol, including those from our own Golden Hill and Birchall Road allotment sites.

Room to Grow – Windmill Hill City Farm
18 June – 18 July 2021

Looking at the stories and history of both allotments and allotment holders, members of the public were invited to contribute to an online archive with photographs and stories. From sneaky foxes to vibrant redcurrants, this archive aims to highlight and pay tribute to the creativity of both photography and growing. A selection of this archive will be displayed in this outdoor exhibition which will be touring around Bristol City Farms.

For more information about this exhibition go to Room to Grow Exhibition.

You may also be interested in another exhibition of allotment photos called Growing Spaces taken during 2020/21 by professional photographer Chris Hoare. Chris visited allotments across the Bristol, including our own H&DAA sites and has produced a chronicle of urban land cultivation in Bristol covering the allotment-goers, landscape and seasonal changes across the official and unofficial growing spaces of the city.
