In the early hours of July 25th, there was an incident of vandalism to several plots on the Birchall Road allotment site. Significant damage was done to structures on various plots. This included broken support posts, trellising knocked flat, fruit cages damaged, shed doors broken and water trough piping damaged.
The police were called by a plot holder who lives on Cranbrook Road (around 2.30 am), but the offenders had disappeared by the time the police arrived. If you or any neighbours witnessed any of this we would request that you contact the police or talk to your Field Rep.
As Birchall Road allotments are open to public access, it is not possible to fence off the site. Thus we would ask all plotholders to be vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour that is noticed.
