Equipment Safety guidelines
H&DAA have electric strimmers and lawnmowers which can be lent out to members on request. One or more persons are nominated on each site to manage the devices. Any members using such equipment should adhere to the following safety procedures.
1.Ensure you have been shown the operation of the equipment you wish to use for first time use by the nominated person on each site (if in doubt ask your Field Rep)
2.Prior to equipment use, ensure plot holders or others are not in close proximity as loose debris can be thrown by the equipment cutting action.
3.When using strimmers wear the protective eye goggles or face shield provided.
4. If you have been allowed to using the strimmer with a metal blade cutter, it is advisable to wear footwear with protective toe caps.
5.Ear defenders can be provided but are not mandatory to wear.
6.Do not attempt to change the cutting blades without switching the equipment off and removing the battery.
7. If any issues occur with the equipment, you should inform the nominated person about the issue

NO PERSON UNDER THE AGE OF 18 IS TO USE THE EQUIPMENT.
