Pests and Diseases

Fruit and vegetables are often prone to attack by pests and diseases, many of which only attack certain species of vegetable or fruit. Others such as slugs and snails attack most plants, especially in the early seedling stage.  There also pernicious weeds which take over a plot if not curtailed.
