Spring Fair

The Annual Spring Fair will be held at our Golden Hill site on Saturday May 11th from 1pm to 4pm,

As usual there will music and merriment with loads of exciting activities including:

  • Live music
  • Plant sales
  • Pond-dipping
  • Morris dancing
  • Games
  • Face painting
  • Homemade cakes
  • Pizza
  • and much more!

Come along and bring your friends. Proceeds go to the Golden HIll Community Garden. Entrance is at the corner of Monk Road and Clevedon Road.

Midsummer Orchard Open Day

This is on the Horfield Organic Community Orchard (on the Golden HIll site – walk down lane beside 22 Kings Drive BS7 8JP) on Saturday 22nd June from 1pm to 5pm and is part of the city-wide Get Growing Gardens month of events.

See how a community group transformed marginal land into a beautiful, fruitful orchard bursting with life from the soil to the tops of the trees. Also learn how to grow druit in small spaces in our Home Orchard Plot.

Get Growing Garden Trail

The Golden Hill Community Garden (at the end of Monk Road behind Horfield Prison and Bishop Road School, BS7 8NE) is open as part of the Get Growing Garden Trail on Saturday 22nd June from 12 noon to 3pm.

There’ll be plants for sale and you can get involved with making pizzas in our clay frog oven. There’s a digging bed, mud kitchen and pond dipping for the the young at heart. Our organic site has two polytunnels, 40+ raised beds, a strawbale building, a well and solar powered water recycling system. Our site is flat with wide hardstanding paths and our toilet is wheelchair accessible.
